My name is Ruth Sahle. Our brother Adiamseged has written a book. Reading is not popular in Ethiopia. This book will contribute to developing the taste of reading. It is a book especially designed to make disciples of the youth. It shows them how to study the bible. As we know, the letter to the Ephesians has six chapters but the book by Adiamseged is huge. However, when we open it start reading, it is not as intimidating as it appears. When we start reading it, we will love it. Developing the taste of reading takes commitment. We used to spending our time on entertainment. But a person who reads will gain a lot of knowledge. Developing a habit of reading also requires discipline. When people read, they grown and find strength to commit themselves to God. So, one of the ways to develop our capacity to read is if parents read and encourage children and youth to read. If we don’t read but merely tell children to read, they see that we don’t read and they will not be motivated to read. So we parents should read while children are watching us and encourage them to read. We must also occasionally give them some gifts or rewards when they finish reading a book to encourage them. The fact that our brother Adiamseged wrote this great book while under the pressures of life overseas is nothing short of amazing. Even producing small articles takes time and commitment. But it is a great achievement that he wrote such a book considering the pressure of life he is under. We all should be encouraged by him. He has not only written this book but also ten others. The one I have read is the study in Ephesians. I would like to say, keep up the good work. We can use this book in different ways. We may use it as a study guide during family worship. The youth can bring it to bible study groups and use it as a study guide because it is a rich resource. It is obvious that a lot of effort has gone into the making of this book. It is packed with knowledge. If the youth commit themselves to studying this book, they will be inspired to study the bible in depth. They will also learn how to study other books of the bible. This is a book that encourages other writers also to prepare books that will be beneficial to generations. Most of the books we have been using in our country are translations from English. However, this book, originally written in Amharic, takes our context and culture into consideration. As a result, it shows us easily how to apply the lessons to life. Thank you.
