My name is Nigussie Bulcha. I wish you peace and blessings from the Lord. I am involved in ministering to the Lord in writing. I am a member of Compass, a fellowship of brothers in the Lord. I participate in the effort to develop a commentary of the New Testament in Amharic. Though there are many people who are in the Lord in this country and many ministers, we have not enough commentaries and other teaching materials in our language. There are some commentaries and study helps translated from other languages but they do not take our conditions and the context of our country into context. To prepare a material helpful to us we need someone who has lived among us and is one of us. A brother of ours named Pastor Endalk has this very idea in his heart. The rest of us also had the same desire and together we are in the process of developing a commentary in Amharic for the twenty-seven books of the New Testament. I will also write one commentary of my own and edit those written by my brothers. I have worked for a long time with Kale Egezeabehere Anebabeyoche (Scripture Readers Union). What has brought me in contact with you now is the books of Adiamseged Weldemariam. I have seen Adiamseged write about thirteen books that I am aware of. He too focuses mainly on developing commentaries. He writes other books on the Bible besides commentaries. I am impressed by his diligence. He has written so many books and not one of them is a small book. For example, you may see here a commentary on the Book of Hebrews which is about 700 pages. I wonder how long he worked on it. Writing a commentary is no easy task. As you are all aware, our knowledge is limited but he has made great efforts to share what little he has with many people. Of course commentaries are not of the same kind. Some are technical and go into a lot of details while others are not so technical. I have observed that Adiamseged’s commentary is inclined toward helping us solve today’s problems and contains some instructions as well as reproofs. It is presented in a way that it will be easy for the majority of readers to understand. I hope a lot can be added to his effort but it is also appropriate to read and enjoy what he has already given us. These books will be great blessings to many of our brothers and sisters. God bless this brother. I want to encourage all the brothers and sisters who have been supporting him. I also want to encourage him to revise and further enrich his books. May the Lord bless all of us, bless and strengthen the church in our country.
